Inspired by the true story of Henry Molaison (Patient H.M), the most written-about case study in the history of neuroscience, Analogue have created a new mixed media theatre show that is both moving and fascinating.

In 1953, Henry underwent an experimental brain procedure to cure his severe epilepsy.  The operation cured his condition but left him without any recollection of the last two years of his life, or the ability to form new memories.

On 2 December 2009 at The Brain Observatory (University of California). Dr. Jacopo Annese dissected the brain of H.M (who had died two years earlier), streamed live on the internet to a global audience of over 400,000 people.  Henry’s brain now exists in 2401 seventy-micron-thin slices; manuscripts of tissue like the pages of a book. These now tell the story of a man who could no longer remember but who has proved impossible to forget.

2401 Objects is a highly acclaimed new play by one of the UK's most exciting new theatre companies, who are rapidly establishing themselves at the forefront of contemporary multimedia theatre.

“I defy anyone not be drawn into this deeply moving examination of life, death and memory.”
